Time for a switch up
Well, it's official. I took the deep dive and I've changed the name. It's me Emily so welcome to the refreshed Emily Sommersett Design.
We posted a little while ago about the vibe shift that's gone on around here. In the last few years my lifestyle has changed dramatically and the designs and illustrations I've been producing have reflected that. So has the range of products we produce, going from mainly mugs and stickers I'm now producing way more print & stationery which I love.So what's behind the rebrand? My name. I miss having my name on what I produce, I work really hard and I don't want people to think of me as a faceless homeware brand. So, from here on out you'll see more of me, more of the behind the scenes info and more consistency in showing you how I make what we make. Watch out for the behind the scenes blog posts coming monthly.
So what's inspiring me now? I'm very much inspired by the vibes right now. Life is a little hectic with a three year old and another on the way this Summer (surprise!). What I'm producing isn't about jumping on an outdoorsy trend or maintaining an active lifestyle that's not sustainable for me at the moment. I'm enjoying producing designs and illustrations inspired by the things around me. There's been a lot of cocktails & food drawing happening lately. Helped by a couple of lovely trips to France and Spain along the way.
I've also been enjoying experimenting with different mediums, I've fallen in love with Caran D'Ache Neocolour pastels. So dreamy and fun to work with. I’ll be sharing more originals and glimpses of my sketchbook soon.You'll spot the website has had a bit of a refresh. Some of the products have gone away, some are staying, but the main thing is all the new bits that will be coming soon. I’ve got new plates arriving soon, carafes and glasses ready for dreamy summer vibes.
